Choosing Bridal Accessories

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

By Kim Prissel Bridal accessories are not a second thought. Much planning is needed for the perfect bridal accessories. They can range from a tiara, gloves, jewelry, handbag, shawl/wrap and shoes. Didnt we all love Audrey Hepburns gloves in Breakfast at Tiffanys? Start with your shoes. There are hundreds of styles of bridal shoes to choose from. Which one is best for you? Some of the questions you need to answer before going shopping for your shoes are these: Am I accustomed to wearing this high of a heel? Choosing a heel that is too high can make for a very uncomfortable day. The last thing you want to be thinking about on your wedding day is how much your feet hurt. If youre not used to spiked heels, perhaps a platform for height might be a better idea. Are these the same shoes I will be wearing for dancing? If you choose a higher heel for the wedding ceremony, you may want to switch to a lower heel and more comfortable shoe for the reception. Brides spend most of the night on their feet. What season will the shoes be worn?Knowing what season your wedding will occur will help you choose an open or closed toe shoe. Is my dress white or ivory? It is important to know the exact color when shopping for shoes, there are many variations of white and off white. Your shoes should match. If you choose to dye your shoes to match, do this early, in case you need to send them back. Does my dress have a specific style? If your dress has a specific style, try to match your shoes to that style. If youre wearing a Victorian lace dress, button up granny boots might look adorable. However, they might not suit other styles. Try the shoes and the dress together. Does the fabric of my dress and shoes coordinate? Satin is a high gloss material that matches perfectly with bridal gowns that have satin bottoms. Luxe or Crepe Boca replaced the previous industry standard of Peau de Soie and looks gorgeous with any crepe or soft textured dress. Ultra Satin looks well with both dull and matte satin gowns. Does my dress have a lot of decoration? If your dress has a lot of embroidery at the edge, or many layers of tulle beneath, a highly decorated shoe may catch on the dress. We dont want the bride to trip. Do I want something funky and different? There are tons of shoes available on the market. From the classic Mary Jane style, to sling backs, buttons, bows, rhinestones, buckles, beads, sequins, jewels, pearls, even shoes with lights that flash when you walk. Will the shoes be worn outdoors? Weather can play an important factor on your choice of shoes. Dyeables can bleed if worn out in wet grass or sand. If the wedding is casual, you can choose less formal shoes. There are even bridal flip-flops available in the market. Do I have the price of my shoes budgeted? Shoes prices can vary widely. Depending on what you choose, prices can range from $40 pumps available online to $485 Vera Wang shoes. If designer shoes are what you want, be sure to budget them. Overall, the above questions should be looked over before you go shopping. Its easy to get distracted while shopping and end up choosing an inappropriate shoe. You want to look great and be comfortable on your very important day. Couple Hikes The Sierra Nevada For Depression Awareness

Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Irene Watson Today we are pleased to talk to Jeff Alt, author of A Hike for Mike. The book is a true-life adventure of a couple who trekked the John Muir Trail as a depression awareness campaign. Hello Jeff. Irene: What inspired you to write your second book, A Hike for Mike, a true life adventure?Jeff: I knew I had a story that readers would be interested in and I had such a positive experience with my first book, A Walk For Sunshine. I received hundreds of letters from readers complimenting me and asking when my next book was coming out. A Walk For Sunshine received a book award, excellent reviews, and has sold through five printings. I just had to write another. But the real inspiration to write A Hike For Mike came after the tragic suicidal death of my brother-in-law Mike due to untreated depression. Thousands of people across the country followed our Hike For Mike depression awareness campaign across the Sierra Nevada and we received hundreds of heartfelt letters from folks all over the country; even Europe. Our journey had struck a chord. A Hike For Mike, the book, seemed to be a natural sequel to A Walk For Sunshine. Irene: Why do you believe this was an important book for you to write? Jeff: A Hike For Mike demonstrates how taking a walk in the woods can be such a fun and healing experience. The book allowed me to take the reader from where I left the Appalachian Trail into the journey of marriage and then back to the woods with my wife. The book has allowed us to help others by not only sharing our healing yet entertaining journey but also educating readers of the symptoms and treatment options for depression. On a professional level, A Hike For Mike helped me get beyond the one book author funk. My goal is to continue writing and speaking about my adventures and the philanthropic causes they benefit. Irene: Deep inside, when you decided to make the trek of 218 miles across the Sierra Nevada, what were you wanting to achieve on a personal level? Jeff: I wanted to help Beth work through the loss of her brother Mike. I also felt it was important to continue to enjoy our lives together in spite of such tragedy, and I knew the trail would help accomplish this. Beth and I walked down the wedding aisle four years prior but we had never taken a long hike together. I walked the entire 2,160 mile Appalachia Trail, chronicled in my first book, A Walk For Sunshine, and I asked myself Whats next? What can top the Appalachian Trail? Answer: The John Muir Trail accompanied by my wife. Although the distance of the JMT was much shorter than the AT, what we accomplished in our relationship was huge and cant be measured with a pedometer. Irene: Your wife, Beth, took the journey with you. How would this experience been different for you if she didnt go with you?Jeff: Beth and I bonded nomadically living in the woods together for the better part of a month. Not many couples can say theyve done that. We shared romantic sunsets. We ate out of the same dish. We became an efficient team as friends, husband and wife, and as hikers. We had no TV, newspaper, or radio; just each other. We learned the power of humor. We learned that each of us have strengths and weaknesses and that we must take turns being the engine and the caboose even in the woods. We worked through an adverse situation together. Beth proved that she was a survivor not a victim. Our hike made our marriage stronger. We would have never discovered this aspect of our relationship if Beth had not hiked with me. Irene: You just mentioned that Beth proved she was a survivor not a victim. What do you believe changed within her to let go of being a victim?Jeff: When Beth committed to walking the John Muir Trail to raise awareness for depression she became a survivor. Beth knew that her brothers death was most likely the result of untreated depression. Even though she couldnt bring Mike back, she could help prevent someone else suffering from untreated depression to get treatment and avoid a potentially suicidal outcome. Beth saw the hike as a tangible vehicle to help heal from her brothers death and she was inspired by the fact that our hike would help prevent another needless death and help others realize they could live fulfilling lives instead of living under the cloud of untreated depression. Irene: Were you a victim before the trek? If so, explain what changes occurred in you to also become a survivor.Jeff: I wasnt a victim. I had known Mike about four years and usually only saw him a few times a year. But, Mike and Beth had grown up together. They were close. Beth was the maid of honor in Mikes wedding a few years before I came into the picture. I saw myself as more of a survivor coach. I wanted my wife to be happy again. I hated to see her so sad. I pulled from my own near death experience in order to help Beth move forward in survivor mode. Irene: Why do you believe that accomplishing a goal is an important aspect of healing?Jeff: When tragedy strikes, its important to move forward. Working towards a goal takes courage and helps you focus to the future. And not get stuck in the past. Its important to realize that life will get better with time. Irene: When people are in a middle of a tragedy they often cannot see getting past the situation. What encouragement would you give them? Jeff: Tragedy such as losing a loved one is hard. I dont really have all the answers. Grief counseling may be a good start. Beth and I learned: the pain will ease with time. Its ok to laugh. Focus on the good memories. Treat yourself well. Exercise is important Spend time with friends and family Irene: What is the most important message you have in your book, A Hike for Mike, that you feel your readers would benefit from? Jeff: A Hike For Mike demonstrates the healing power of nature and reflects on how one family overcame adversity. A Hike For Mike offers hope to those experiencing depression that with treatment, you will climb the ridge of life once again. Irene: Thank you Jeff. Is there anything else you would like the readers to know about you, your journey, or your book?Jeff: A Hike For Mike is an award-winning, inspiring humorous adventure. I enjoyed reliving my adventure as I wrote the book. As a writer, I want the reader to feel as if they are on the trail with me. A Hike For Mike accomplishes this goal. As you walk vicariously alongside Beth and I through three national parks, ending atop the highest mountain in the contiguous United States, youll encounter bears, lightening bolts, fascinating people, and beautifully rugged scenery. Youll also see a ray of light emerge from the dark ashes of tragedy. Our adventure reflects on perseverance, overcoming adversity, and navigating the mountains and valleys of life. All the best in the great outdoors! Irene Watson is the Managing Editor of Reader Views, a book review service. http://www.readerviews.com. Who Should Prepare The Fiance Visa Paperwork

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By John Kunkle There are a number of different ways to complete the paperwork for the K-1 Fianc Visa or the K-3 Spousal Visa: One obvious way is for you to complete the paperwork by yourself Another way is to use a service to complete your paperwork Or you could hire an attorney to complete the paperwork Each method has its good points and its bad points. Completing it by yourself is the least expensive way to file your paperwork. But then again, you are going to spend a fair amount of time doing it by yourself. There will be a fairly high learning curve, so you are going to be spending even more time learning how to complete the paperwork so you dont screw it up. Do It Yourself Fiance Visa Kit: If you do decide to do the paperwork yourself, it is best to buy one of the K-1 fianc kits available. You will have complete instructions and all the forms necessary to complete your application. Using a service is a higher cost than doing it by yourself. However, you arent going to invest as much time learning the ins and outs of the visa application process. However, you are still going to be spending a lot of time getting the supporting documentation together. In fact, this is going to take a lot more time than it will to complete the forms. A service can fill out the paperwork for you. They know more than you do about fianc visas. But your the one who is going to be doing all the donkeywork. The problem with fianc visa services is that they are not regulated or licensed and you are at their mercy as to their level of competence. If the service screws up my paperwork, they dont have any legal liability. They dont have any risk. Sorry, better luck next time. Foreign visa service companies are the worst choice possible. Not only do they not have any legal liability, they are often ignorant of US law. The regulations that govern the processing of the Fianc Visa are US law. Using an attorney is going to be the most expensive process. You probably are going to spend fifteen hundred to two thousand dollars for an attorney to complete your fianc visa paperwork. A service is probably going to be charging you about half of that. But the skill level of an attorney is greater than the skill level of a service. Right? Maybe? It is if you use an attorney that specializes in immigration law, that uses a software program for preparing the paperwork; if he has a lot of clients emigrating from the CIS countries; and if he is conscientious in the completion of his paperwork and in staying on top of his clients cases. Thats a lot of ifs! I used an attorney an immigration attorney a nice guy who I personally like a lot. However, I was his first client applying under a fianc visa who was emigrating from the CIS countries. I live in California. His typical immigration client was a Mexican national who had immigration problems with the INS. He knew those cases cold. My case was not his area of specialization. He went to school on me. Secondly, I frequently knew more about how to get things done than he did. I knew about the problems with mail in CIS countries. We spent months while important documents went back and forth and got lost in the mail. He made mistakes in the details. I had to proofread the forms he was submitting and make corrections. They werent horrible mistakes, but there shouldnt have been any mistakes. Have All Your Documents Ready For The Next Step: Third, instead of having me garner documents for the next phase of the operation, he always waited to the last minute to tell me what I needed to get. There was always a waiting period to get the documents from overseas, when I could have already had them in hand. I ended up generating my supporting documentation three times! One time with the original application. Another time for the embassy package to be presented at the interview. And another time because our attorney said that the embassy couldnt find our file. Of course, when I got to the embassy they had found all the missing documents (probably in their filing cabinet). Of course I was the one doing all the donkeywork, getting the supporting documentation together. I had to badger him to keep the process moving. When we didnt get an invitation from the embassy, he didnt know how to resolve the problem. My fianc kept calling until she got through and solved the problem. He tried emailing and writing letters to the embassy, but he didnt know how to effectively get their attention. She was the one who found out what the problem was and resolved it. All in all, it took me nine and a half months to get my fianc to America under the K-1 Visa provisions. I have never had anyone who I talked to who took longer to get to America under a Fianc Visa. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. And this is with me being as conscientious as I possibly could. I hired an attorney because I didnt want anything to go wrong in the process. Of course, a large part of the problem was the Belarusian post office, on whom I blame about two to three months of delays, my attorney who I blame for two months of delays, plus a whole lot of extra work and unnecessary stress, and of course, the INS and the US embassy, who are exactly what we expect government agencies. With the Belarusian Post Office and the US Government Agencies I expect delays. After all I wasnt paying them any money. But my attorney was the guy who was supposed to go to bat for me. I paid him eighteen hundred dollars for first class travel and got a second-class mule ride. The delays almost led to the break up of our relationship. When my fianc had waited nearly six months without getting any documentation or substantiation from the embassy or anyone, she started doubting my word. Her friends were putting words in her ears like, you know how American men are? Soon I was the devil personified. I had to make another trip to Belarus to keep our relationship together. Fortunately, we soon heard from the INS. Delays Can Lead To The Breakup Of Your Relationship: But then there were another three and a half months of agonizing tension trying to schedule the interview at the embassy. I feel like I applied for the fianc visa three times mainly because I did the work to apply three times. I feel as though I could not have completed the application quite as well as my attorney did. However, I do think I solved more problems and kept the process moving better than my attorney did. As I see it, I was not just paying him to fill out the forms, but more importantly to fill them out properly so that I would have minimal problems. I also feel that the reason that you hire an attorney is to help you resolve problems. They are supposed to know how to solve problems that come up. Just so you dont think I just like to whine about attorneys, my personal experience with attorneys has been excellent. They are not cheap, but the few times when I needed them, they were able to solve my problem quickly, effectively, and with excellent result. I have only had two circumstances in my life with attorneys who I thought did a less than stellar job for me. This was one of those times. All that being said, what is my recommendation? I still think it is best to hire an attorney. I know a number of people who have done the paperwork themselves with less than half the problems that I had and in half the time as my attorney was able to deliver. Why do I recommend an attorney?: Because of the downside risk. What is the result if you make a major blunder in applying for the fianc visa? Your fianc doesnt get to America, thats what. You spent a lot of time finding her, courting her, wooing her, and winning her. You made a major investment in terms of time, money, and most of all your heart. Are you willing to blow that all off because youre too cheap to hire an attorney? You searched half way across the world for her. Dont you want to make sure she gets here? Im sorry, honey. I screwed up the visa. Better luck next time. Oh yeah, its your one and only chance to get a fianc visa and I screwed it up for you. Bummer. Okay, see you later. Whens my next tour to Russia scheduled to leave? Not on my watch! Im going down fighting for my woman! So, yes. I recommend an attorney. A good one. An experienced one. One who specializes in fianc visas from CIS countries. An attorney who knows how to solve problems when they come up. You Don’t Want A Fatal Mistake To Derail Your Fiance Visa ProcessThe main reasons for hiring an attorney is to eliminate the likelihood that you will make mistakes when completing the paperwork and to insure that your fianc will be with you in the fastest manner possible. Delays in the processing of fianc visas are one of the main reasons that the relationships fall apart during the waiting period, and mistakes can add three to twelve months to getting your visa processed. The reason for hiring an attorney is to make sure that the process goes smoothly. The reason why the right attorney is worth his weight in gold is that he makes sure that the fianc visa petition is perfect when it is submitted to the INS and that he can monitor your case as it is moves through the bureaucratic system. Problems can occur even when the petition is perfect. Your attorney must have the experience to solve any problem that may occur with the INS or the US embassy. If a problem or delay does occur, you want to have someone representing you who knows exactly what to do to get the problem solved and keep the time of the delay to a minimum. Delays are the number one reason that the romances fizzle out. An attorney has a higher level of professionalism that they have to operate at than a service does. They have more at risk. They can be sued. So get an attorney. Just make sure you get a good one. John has been to Russia and CIS countries many times. He has been successfully married to his Belarussian wife for over five years. The Dress That Dreams Are Made Of

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Vlady Peters When it comes to the wedding dress, problems will pop up whether youre a beggar or a Queen. As the potential monarch of England, Princess Elizabeth was expected to put on a royal show on her wedding day despite the bleak economic outlook of the country which affected her as much as anybody else. Fortunately, even governments seem to get a little sentimental at the mention of a wedding. To make a bride feel special during this period of recovery, each bride received extra clothing coupons. In the case of Princess Elizabeth, it was extra two hundred coupons. With the material coupons in his hot little hands, Mr. Norman Hartnell, the designer of the dress, looked around to see where he could purchase that special material to make that special dress. Like all artistes, nothing but the best would do. The brides mother begged him to please buy the satin from the famous silk worm farm at Lullingston Castle, right here in England. But powerful figure as she was to everyone else in the country, she could not prevail on Mr. Hartnell. In his considered opinion the material recommended by the Queen Mother might be good enough for the train, but as far as the rest of the dress was concerned, nothing but a fabric from a Scottish firm would do. No sooner did he make his decision public, then a nasty rumour began to circulate. It seemed that the material being provided by the Scottish firm had been spun by, enemy silk worms that might very well have come from a country that had had been warring with the allies just a few short years before. Patriotic anger reached such heights that for a while it seemed that the wedding might have to be postponed altogether. But rising to the occasion, Mr. Hartnell was able to reassure the nation that the material had, indeed, been spun with the help of friendly little silk worms of Nationalist China, and not an enemy country at all. On the wedding day the bride arrived looking like all brides are meant to look, radiant and happy. As for the dress, like so many royal dresses, it ended in a museum. And, it seems, despite Mr. Hartnells ingenuity as a designer, the Brides Mother did know best. Like all good housekeepers, she knew a good fabric when she saw it. Hr. Hartnells dress might have looked well on the day, but it didnt keep half as well as it would have, had he bowed to her wishes and stayed with her choice of fabrics. Bye-Bye Bread

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

By Virginia Bola, PsyD I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love bread - not the soft, fluffy, rubber stuff sold as an edible napkin, but the scrunchy, chewy, whole grain staff of life bread. I can pass by decorated cakes without a twinge and eyeball ice cream as if were something alien and unappealing. But show me a slice of rich pumpernickel or marbled rye, and my knees buckle. There are breads that make sandwich filling unimportant: olive and herb rolls, panetone, extra sourdough, cheese rolls, raisin bagels, onion bread, poppyseed, sesame seed, and caraway. Such breads are, we are frequently told, healthy and nutritious and make up part of a fiber-rich, natural diet. Unfortunately, the amount I’m likely to eat, once I start, is going to seriously derail my weight loss efforts. Cutting out butter and margarine, eschewing salad dressing above the 3 calories per tablespoon level, and eliminating fast foods and soft drinks does have a marked effect on my caloric intake. But I find that to really lose pounds, and keep them off, I have to pass on my favorite breads. I hate it. Why can’t I enjoy one of my favorite foods without paying through the nose (actually through the abdomen and hips)? It’s so unfair! Well, Virginia, life is unfair and I have to learn to live with it. My body just can’t handle the carbohydrate load without burgeoning out of control. I suppose if I were really fitness-motivated, I’d run a few miles so I could have a fabulous sandwich. But, I admit it, I’m an exercise-phobe, barely able to make it through my minimal daily stretches. Facing my weaknesses with guilt and self-criticism, I reluctantly conclude that bread has to go. Angry and resentful, but miserably aware of the choices I must make, I bid farewell for life to breads I will now only enjoy in my dreams. The alternative means getting fat and I’m just not going to go there. Virginia Bola is a licensed psychologist and an admitted diet fanatic. The New World Order - Part 5

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

By William Bell, Jr. The Antichrist Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrist have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. (1 John 2:18). Jeffrey must deny the first century existence and presence of the antichrists and create one for the imminent future. Here is a clear case of an uninspired prophet (Jeffrey) calling an inspired prophet (the apostle John) a liar. For Jeffrey, John and the first century church did not know that it was the last hour! What else should we not believe about the Bible for the sake of future prophecy? John mentions the word antichrist(s) four times in the first general epistle (2:18, 19; 22; 4:3) and once in 2 John 7. In 1 John 4:3, he says that the Antichrist was already in the world, implies that it is not a single person, but anyone who denied that Jesus had come in the flesh. Equally important is the assurance he gave the church that they had overcome the Antichrist, not by the Rapture out of the world, but because they were of God, and God was greater than the Antichrist, (1 John 4:4). In summary, there is no coming world order in our immediate or remote future that is prophesied in scripture. To arrive at such conclusions one must ignore the evidence and the time statements for the near return of Christ to his original first century audience. In other words, the principles of hermeneutics must be abandoned. Gods kingdom is the New World Order. It has been present in the world since the first century. Its power is spiritual, the real power that influences all forms of power, –without hands. What we need are not more date-setters and fate-telling futurists, but more believers in the words of Christ, and a brighter outlook based on fulfilled prophecy and the fact that Christ has already taken care of the future in a gloriously victorious kingdom that never ends. William Bell is the author of the book, “The Re-Examination” a study of Christ’s return in the first century. Want to Make More Money with Google Adsense?

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By Tal Fighel You want to make money online so you set up a site and add a few affiliate links in it. But wait, you also read online that almost everyone who has a website are having google adsense ads on it. It sounds so good because when ever someone clicks on the ads, you get paid for it. Now, how easy is that for earning money online. So you sign up with Google adsense and then you place the code that they give you and hope to make some excellent money. So what are the google adsense success secrets that other successful webmasters use to make some great money with their website? Placing the google adsense ad in the right spot of the page is crucial to how much money you will make. It is very important that you place the ad above the fold (at the top of the page) on your website in order to get the most clicks. It is called a high click through rate. What this means is that you will want to place the ad high enough on the page so that your visitors do not have to scroll down to see the google ad. By placing the google adsense ad above the fold, there is a greater chance that people will click on the ad. The reason for this is because the majority of your visitors will not scroll down the page and look at it. A lot of the time, people look over the top part of the page without worrying about scrolling down. If you place the ad higher, you have a better chance to get clicks from your visitors. The way you blend the ad with the rest of your page can determine if the ad is visually appealing or not. It is very important to make the google adsense ads look like your site and not another ad. You can do this by making the font and color of the ad’s text similar to the rest of the page. I also recommend that you blend the background of the ad with the background of your page. It should basically have the same color. Google gives you the option to go into your account and customize your ads in different fonts and colors. This will help you blend the ad to your site. Make sure that you don’t use the banner ads on your site because this will decrease your click through rate. Placing banners and picture ads on your site may seem more appealing and much more professional, but this will make people avoid those ads and look for something else on your site or worse, they may leave and never come back. Doing the above recommendation can make the difference between success and failure with google adsense. If you sit down and do all of these suggestions that are listed above and generate a good amount of traffic to your website, having success with google adsense should not be and will not be a big problem for you. Reaching Out to Troubled Teens

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

By Kent Pinkerton There were so many incidents of teenagers shooting classmates and teachers. Added to this, there is the ever-present problem of teens abusing drugs, causing them to have run-ins with the law. There are lots of options available to reach out to troubled teens. All these are designed solely for the purpose of redirecting unmotivated and troubled teens. In general, people reach out to troubled teens by means of teen parenting, behavior modification schools, boarding and boot camp style schools, homes for troubled teens, rehabilitation programs, troubled youth programs and wilderness camps. Remember that no one solution works for all teens. The settings and programs to reach out to teens should match the individual problems. Teen parenting is committed to establishing a strong relationship with the teens. Most teens require someone to nurse them and listen to their difficulties and hopefully help them with the answers. This approach must be honest and focusing on love and compassion for teens, and anxiety for their future and their safety. Behavior modification schools aims at dealing with teens that show social and emotional problems in their behavior. Along with regular curriculum, they have special programs for teenagers to regain control over their life. For example, anger management programs help them control their violent tendencies. School counselors are able to plan programs that match the individual problems. A boot camp is a military style setting with strict discipline and a rigid structure. Here, troubled teens learn how to deal better with authority figures and become more accepting of authority. Boarding schools have a combined atmosphere of behavior modification schools and military style schools. Rehabilitation programs are good ways to reach teens that have drug or alcohol problems. They help them become drug free through counseling and medical programs. Homes for troubled teens are group homes that have trained staffs who can handle teen problems effectively. Troubled Teens provides detailed information on Troubled Teens, Schools for Troubled Teens, Troubled Teens Programs, Camps for Troubled Teens and more. Troubled Teens is affiliated with Teenage Boot Camps. You need a Marriage Makeover. Friends have followed a post-wedding custom and left you to get to know one another without their interference. Just when you could have done with their support and friendly advice. With “that” argument. The first one in your marriage. There’s no telling when it will happen. And there’s no telling why. It may be the way you drive. It may be the way you hog the TV remote and constantly channel surf. This is a biggie. Watch out. But when it does happen you learn the importance of the difference between a marriage based on a feeling only and one based on a choice with long term commitment and feelings. When you exchanged vows you “signed up” for the long haul. Remember. The world’s solution to settling such arguments is when the “feelings” between you sour a little you look for the fastest way out. That never works. You just take the biggest reason for the problem - you - off into a new relationship. It’s doomed to failure as you run your life on the cruel myth - If doesn’t feel good any more don’t do it. You need to develop longsuffering and forgiveness to stay in any marriage. Your Marriage Makeover begins with an Insider Secret. Wives hurl words that wound at their husbands. The key is to understand they often don’t really mean it. You have a special assignment here - should you choose to accept it. And, yes, that is a two way street. Insults are flowing in both directions. You’re special assignment is to be transformed by renewing your mind to the point where you can see wounding words as a cry for understanding and acceptance of a long held view. Such as it being wrong for husbands to monopolize the TV remote and surf through all the channels. Without first asking his wife if she minds. Beginning your Marriage Makeover will bring a freshness to your relationship. And it will encourage you to get started on the next stage. Life Experience Universities

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

By Shubhanyu Jain How should a university function? How does a university function? What defines the set of evaluation criteria for a university to be labeled ok or a diploma mill’ or degree mill’? The present situation is that of a mixture. Life experience degree colleges function in a different way than traditional degree colleges. Hence, the evaluation criteria should be different. But that is not the case; we evaluate both with the same set of criteria, which leads to one of them failing in such a pitiable manner. And then, we are quick to label them as diploma or degree mills. Why do we behave in such insipid manner? We are unjust towards the life experience colleges from our hearts, and we know it very well. Yet, we aggravate the situation by putting up stuff on Wikipedia for the public to read, all the while knowing in our minds that it is gibberish. Seriously, have we become such characterless? Life experience universities should not and can not be evaluated through traditional evaluation methods. If you go by traditional evaluation methods, you would most definitely crib about lack of classrooms. You would also crib about lack of a campus; and would, thus, rate the university poorly. Life experience universities should be evaluated on their attitude in replying to customers’ mails, the depth of information and clarity of the mails. Further evaluation may be done by assessing the timeliness of dispatch of study materials, the courses on offer, the fees, and the overall experience. And when you go by this method, which is actually the only and the correct way of evaluating life experience colleges, you may find yourself in the pit - for you would most definitely be proven wrong in your assessments so far. The same universities which you were rating as degree mills would now be coming at par with the best.
